PROSPERITY AND THE SEED

A Word From Karen...

“Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers” 3 John 2

It is God’s will for His people to prosper, otherwise the Holy Spirit would not have moved through the Apostle John to pen 3 John 2.  The Apostle was praying that above all things, meaning everything collectively in our lives, that God’s people would first of all prosper. Figuratively this word prosper in this scripture (Greek) means to “succeed in business affairs.”

Interestingly, the word business in Hebrew (melakah) is also the word for ministry. Let’s look at something very interesting about the word business.  In the root of the word melakah (business), we find the word “melek.”  Melek means to be a King.  When you are prospering in business, you are acting as a king or an ambassador.  You become the ruler, the head and not the tail.

Deuteronomy 28:1 teaches us that if we will obey the voice of the LORD, He will bless us with physical and spiritual blessings. Obeying the voice of the LORD causes Him to command blessings upon our storehouses. (Dt. 28:8). Among many things, obedience to His voice causes Him to open his good treasure from Heaven upon us. (Dt. 28:12) He will cause us to become the lender and NOT the borrower. (Deut.28:13)

The Roots Of Barrenness

I see mainly two types of people in the body of Christ. Those who are prospering and those who are barren. If there is barrenness, the question must be asked, “Why?” I believe it’s because there are legal rights/accusations before the Courts of Heaven hindering or even preventing prosperity.

There is a powerful story in the scriptures concerning Rachel, the wife of Jacob. Rachel was barren. Jacob was no stranger to understanding barrenness, as his mother was once barren, as well as his grandmother, Sarah. The family line of Abraham were the possessors of the “seed” of the LORD.  I have seen it many times in the lives of those who have strong anointings; their seed is often fought over, contended for. Many who are called to wealth and the status of paymaster have at some time suffered financial barrenness. In Hebrew, the definition of being barren means to be hamstrung.  If you are hamstrung, you are rendered ineffective and powerless. Think for a moment about what it means to be barren. If we are barren, we have no seed. The enemy is after the seed. God gives us the “power to get wealth” according to Deut. 8:18. The word “get” in Hebrew has many definitions. One of the definitions of “get” is to yield. To yield means we are able to produce seed and act effectively.  It’s healthy to ask ourselves, are we operating in this realm right now, where we know we are experiencing the power to get whatever God has promised, or are the heavens over our heads brass?  If we are stopped or even stymied from receiving God’s promises, it is time to find out what is operating against us and have it judged in the Courts of Heaven.

RACHEL AND THE COURTS OF HEAVEN

In Gen. 30:1-6, Rachel seeing she could not bear children, demanded of her husband, Jacob, that he give her children. In a heated argument between the two, Jacob angerly corrects Rachel by declaring, “Am I in God’s stead, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?”  Have you ever blamed someone else because of your inability to be fruitful? Applying this example to ourselves we ask, have we been prayed for  that we prosper and have good success, but yet there is no change in our circumstances? The resistance may be that there is an accusation against us in the Courts of Heaven that must be removed. In this amazing story, Rachel asks Jacob to go to her handmaiden Bilhah.  Bilhah conceives and bares Jacob a son. Rachel says something very interesting when she prepares to name the child. She says, GOD HAS JUDGED ME and heard my voice and has given me a son. What curse was operating against Rachel that had to be judged in the courts? Whatever the reason for the curse, it was judged, and through Bilhah, Rachel was considered fruitful. She named her son, DAN. Dan means judge. In the Hebrew alphabet, the letters that spell Dan are the dalet (door) and the nun (seed). The very letters are telling a story. In Ancient Hebrew, Dan can mean “The door to the seed.” I believe when a curse is removed and the accusations are dealt with by the Holy Spirit, the door opens for us to receive our rightful seed.

As I have learned from Dr. Francis Myles in his book, Dangerous Prayers From The Courts Of Heaven, there is an altar of barrenness that must be broken in order for us to prosper; and it can be broken.

We invite you to come out to OTC this week as we delve deeper into this subject. We are expecting to continue seeing the outpouring of the Spirit of the LORD in the meetings with demonstration and power.

Love,

P/Karen
