DIVINE RE-SET (PASSOVER)

A Word From Karen...

“But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto then on their right hand and on their left” (Exod. 12:31).

The story of the Passover in the Book of Exodus chapter 12, is filled with much prophetic significance that we can apply to our lives today.

The Feasts of the Lord can be found in Lev. 23. We should study and observe these feasts today, as they teach of the first and second coming of the Messiah. The feasts of the Lord are a shadow of things to come (Colossians 2:16-17). The feasts reveal the pattern of heavenly things on the Earth (Heb. 8:1-2,5; 9:8-9,23). The feasts of the Lord are set times when God makes an appointment with His people and when certain events are fulfilled.

DIVINE RE-SET

Once the children of Israel crossed the Red Sea, the Lord offered them a new life. I will call this a divine re-set. What is a re-set? It means to set again or anew; to set again or differently. I believe everyone reading this is ready for a divine re-set in some area of their life. As we study the children of Israel, after they crossed the Red Sea and were delivered from bondage and captivity, we see that sadly they could not let go of the remnants of Egypt.

I am going to outline four keys that will work in keeping “Egypt” out of us …. if we will put them into practice. May we not miss this season for a new life and life-style re-set.

(1) In order to walk in this newness, we must start slowly. WE may have to start working principles into our lives to which we are not accustomed. Everything we have experienced in our lives can be used for the bigger purposes of God. Remember Joseph – the purpose for his pain was greater than the pain itself. The Prophet Haggai says: “You have sown much, but you have reaped little; you eat, but you do not have enough; you drink, but you do not have your fill; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he who earns wages has earned them to put then in a bag with holes in it. Thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways (your previous and present conduct) and how you have fared” (Haggai 1:6-7) (AMP). What this teaches us is that we must evaluate our present life and everything in it. For those of us who have experienced lack, sickness, physical or emotional trauma, or the tragic consequences of fatalism, the Lord is extending His hand to lead us out.

(2) We must eliminate everything that brings distraction. We are to strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and sin which so readily entangles us. (Heb. 12:1) As we daily put on the new man (Eph. 4:24), we are empowered by His Spirit to do what we cannot accomplish in our flesh.

(3) We must forget the former things. Isaiah says “Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing! NOW it springs forth; …. I will even make a way in the wilderness” (Isaiah 43:19). Personally, I am seeing the LORD move supernaturally to re-set some wonderful things I didn’t think would ever come back to me.

(4) We must have a high expectation of the glory and power of God. Our old expectations must be changed. “Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for and hope for and EXPECT the Lord” (Psalm 31:24).

Out of all the people who crossed the Red Sea, we know that there were only two people who made it to the promised land, Caleb and Joshua. Please, may we all embrace the spirit of Caleb and Joshua and declare today that we are well able to take our new land. (Num. 13:30)

Lord, I pray for all who read this letter, that they are able to rise up and say that YOU have triumphed gloriously, the horse and his rider have you thrown into the sea. (Exod. 15:1) And that all will proclaim, “I AM FREE.”

Many blessings,

P/Karen
