On Sunday, August 28th after our service at OTC, we will be having a Water Baptismal service. If you have been considering baptism and want to be a part of this service, we encourage you to join us at Lock 3 Park in Hendersonville, TN at 3:00 p.m.

Baptism is the public declaration of our intent to die to self and be raised again into new life in Christ. Just as Christ was buried in the tomb, and rose again after three days, we are “buried” in the water, and emerge a new creation. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Cor. 5:17). KJV

We are not saved through baptism—only the blood Jesus shed on the cross can save us. Baptism is a God-ordained ceremony and personal testimony of your inward assurance of new life in Jesus Christ.
When we choose to be baptized, we are identifying publicly with all believers everywhere. Baptism is also an act of evangelism. When others see the change in us and ask us what has happened, we have an answer. “…but sanctify the LORD GOD in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear…” (I Peter 3:15). KJV

GENDER REVEAL

Immediately after the baptism, we will be hosting a “gender reveal” party for Terry and Jennifer Carter, who are expecting their 7th child. We will be serving finger foods and drinks. We would love to see all of you who are possibly able to attend come out to support Terry and Jennifer at this exciting time in their lives.
