THE GOD OF TRUTH

A Word From Karen...

“He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He” (Deut. 32:4)

We serve the only wise God.  He is a God of truth and no iniquity is found within Him.  He is perfect, just and right in everything He does. He is immortal and invisible, but He reigns and dwells within us, His beloved children.  He is the omnipotent and omnipresent God who rules the universe, yet He forms relationships with those who love Him.

For this writing, I encourage all to focus our minds solely on the greatness and majesty of our Father God.  Though daily our soul may be vexed by the magnitude of evil we are seeing in our country and around the world, the Lord reminds us that the habitation of His throne is justice and judgment.  Mercy and truth go before His face. (Ps. 89:14)  Though He is denied by the devil, the self-righteous and the unbelievers, He is certain and fully trustworthy.  (Num. 23:19; Titus 1:2) 1

Whatever challenges any of us are facing, whether it be personal, physical, financial, marital, mental, or spiritual, we are invited by God Himself to come boldly before His throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in time of need. (Heb. 4:16)  “Fear not; for I am with you: be not dismayed; for I am your God; yea, I will strengthen you, yea, I will help you, yea, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness” (Isa. 41:10).

Our God is faithful, and we are encouraged to depend upon His faithfulness.  “Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him in well doing, as unto a faithful CREATOR” (I Peter 4:19).

Perhaps more than ever, many of us need to be reminded that our God is faithful.  “God is faithful, by whom you were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord” (I Cor. 1:9).  Faithfulness is part of God’s character.  As the prophet Habakkuk said, “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry” (Hab. 2:3).  I know firsthand that God arrives in the midst of our situations at exactly the right time, even when circumstances suggest that we have been abandoned and deserted.  Our challenge is to not doubt that what He has promised is true.  When He speaks, He means what He says the first time and every time.  Our faith in His Word is greater than any man’s mental assent.  Our daily battle is to overcome our fear of contrary circumstances, situations and negative reports that may be a source of temptation urging us to change our minds and doubt what He has spoken.  May we be at rest!  What He says, He will make happen.

THE DANGER OF DOUBTING

There was a certain priest named Zachariah who had a wife, Elizabeth.  They were advanced in years and had no children because Elizabeth was barren.  As was the annual custom of the Temple officials, Zacharias was chosen by lot to burn incense in the temple of the LORD.

While everyone was praying outside at the time of incense, the angel Gabriel appeared to Zacharias in the temple.  When Zacharias saw the angel he was troubled, and fear fell on him.  The angel Gabriel who stands before God delivered a word to Zacharias from Heaven.  He told Zacharias that his prayers had been heard and that he and his wife were going to bear a son named John.  After Zacharias heard the word of the LORD from Heaven through an angel, he doubted.  Zacharias spoke to the angel and said, “By what shall I know this?  For I am old, and my wife is advanced in her days” (Luke 1: 18).  His natural and physical circumstances caused him to doubt immediately. Gabriel responded with these words: “And behold, you shall be SILENT and not able to speak until the day that these things shall be performed, because you did not believe my words, which shall be fulfilled in THEIR TIME” (Luke 1:20).

Be encouraged!  God is faithful, established, everlasting, great, incomparable, infinite, and unfailing.  He manifests Himself by keeping His covenant and fulfilling His promises.2

Today, and forever, He is to be magnified by us, His saints.  Praise Him for His faithfulness.  Turn your heart today to the greatness of God.  He is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints and to be held in reverence of all them that are about Him. (Ps. 89:7)

Love,

P/Karen
