“Speak to the children of Israel, and say unto them, concerning the feasts of the LORD…”
(Lev. 23:2)
On April 20, 2025, during regular meeting times, Olive Tree Connections will be celebrating the Passover with a Seder demonstration and feast. Passover begins before sundown on Saturday April 12, 2025 and ends after nightfall on April 20, 2025.
Please invite family and friends to celebrate such a glorious feast with us.
The Meaning Of The Word “Feasts”
God’s feasts are to be observed and studied, as they are a shadow of things to come. The feasts teach us about the first and second coming of the Messiah and God’s plan for redemption.God told Moses to speak to the children of Israel, and say to them concerning the feasts [mo’ed] of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations; even these are MY FEASTS. The feasts are the festivals of the Messiah. Some say they don’t have to observe the feasts because the feasts are Jewish traditions. In fact, these are the feasts of the Messiah for ALL of His people.
Mo’ed means, “properly an appointment, that is, a fixed time or season; specifically a festival; the place of meeting; – (appointed, due) season, (set) time” (Lev. 23:2) (Strong’s H 4150)
The LORD ordains set times and seasons where He schedules appointments with His people to fulfil certain events in the earth. Jesus came to earth at the exact time appointed by the Father.
The feasts are teachers, and reveal our personal relationship with Him.
Set Times
Understanding times and seasons is vital for all of us. “For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time[mo’ed] of which God had spoken to him” (Gen. 21:2).If we don’t understand the set times of God, we can create our own Ishmaels. Most of us have received a multitude of prophetic words over the course of our walk with God. When events don’t happen when we expect them to happen, we can become discouraged and even feel hurt by God. We may listen to another voice attempting to persuade us to move out of God’s timing. Abram listened to Sarai resulting in Ishmael’s conception. (Gen, 16:2)
If you will study and observe His set times and appointments, circumstances will align and lead you into His perfect will.
May we remember Issachar. “And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do…” (I Chrn. 12:32). They were studiers of God’s Word.
