SEEING WISDOM WITH YOUR EYES

A Word From Karen...

“But God’s wisdom will be visibly seen living in those who embrace it”
(Matt. 11:19)(TPT)

One of the recurring themes at Olive Tree Connections is that of WISDOM.  Wisdom begins with the deep reverential fear/respect for the Lord. Wisdom is acquired by searching for it and is granted to those who ask for it.  Wisdom is priceless and is more valuable than anything on this earth you might desire.  God’s wisdom, manifest in Jesus Christ, amazed men during His ministry on earth.  Everyone who heard Jesus was astonished at His understanding and His ability to skillfully answer all questions. (Luke 2:47).

Throughout the earthly life of Jesus, the Bible tells us that He increased in wisdom. (Luke 2:52)  Wisdom has the ability to grow, bring profit and bring promotion to those who diligently seek it (Him).

One of the things we should all endeavor to do is to study great men and women of God as depicted in His Word.

SOLOMON AND WISDOM

Solomon is considered to have been one of great wisdom.  May I bring to your attention some especially valuable facts about Solomon and his attention to detail.  King David, the father of Solomon, gave him the blueprint for building the Temple of God.  God chose Solomon to be His builder, but before the Temple was built, Solomon had to make specific preparations.

In preparation for his project, he met with Hiram king of Tyre.  Hiram supplied all the materials and the craftsmen that were needed to build the Temple.  King Hiram’s subjects would have had to be specialists in the skills of hewing timber in order for Solomon to have even considered asking the king for his help.  Solomon said these words to Hiram, “…there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like the Sidonians” (I Kings 5:6).

Solomon was detail oriented in the choosing of those he wanted to supply the materials, and detail oriented in those that he would hire to do the labor. (I Kings 5:6).

Solomon was very specific in communicating to King Hiram exactly how he would compensate him, and when. (I Kings 5:11).

From the information we read in the Word, we can see that Solomon’s goal was very clear to those who would join him in the building of the Temple.  We also know that his assignment had God’s approval.  These were the instructions of God and not just a man’s good idea. (2 Chron. 7:12, 16).

Solomon used only the best materials.  “And he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of Parvaim.  He overlaid also the house, the beams, the posts, and walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubims on the walls” (2 Chron. 3:6-7).  ‘Something about cheap products; You end up having to buy the same material twice.  It fails quickly.

Please review these few facts about Solomon.  These keys of wisdom are given to us to teach us what to do and what not to do.  The epistles of Paul teach us that things written aforetime were written for our learning. (Romans 15:4)  Both the function and the fruit of wisdom is obvious in the construction of God’s Temple.

At Olive Tree Connections, the leadership team and I are constantly seeking the face of God for wisdom and direction.  What we desire is to do exactly what the Spirit of the LORD tells us to do.

Please note this quote from an industry magnet named Eugene G. Grace.  He was the president of Bethlehem Steel from 1916 to 1945.

“Thousands of engineers can design bridges, calculate strains and stresses, and draw up specifications for machines, but the great engineer is the man who can tell whether the bridge or the machine should be built at all, where it should be built, and when.”  Eugene Grace

Lord may we, your body, seek Your face daily for wisdom.  May we not ignore Your still small voice and may we never fear the worldly opinions of men.

Many blessings,

Karen J
