OUR HIGH PRIEST OF “TODAY”

A Word From Karen...

“…For we have a magnificent King-Priest, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who rose into the heavenly realm for us, and now sympathizes with us in our frailty” (Heb. 4:14). TPT

As we have passed through the Feast of Tabernacles, we learned that this feast is a picture of the rest [relief and comfort] of God. The Feast of Tabernacles is a divine appointment where God’s people meet with Him and receive fresh revelation of who He is. We learn that He is the Living Water and the Light of the world. He is the hope of Israel and the fountain of living waters.

We are to continue to be zealous and exert ourselves daily as we diligently strive to enter God’s rest. (Heb. 4:7) Each day, we are to personally experience God for ourselves and not forfeit our destinies due to a hardened heart of unbelief.

We have a High Priest who has ascended and is able (right now, this minute, every time) to understand us fully. “For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to understand and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One who has been tempted in every respect as we are, without sinning. (Ampc)

The Lord is appealing to us His children, right now to boldly draw near to the throne of grace to receive mercy for all of our failures. One of our biggest failures is not hearing his voice and instruction daily. It is the living High Priest (Jesus) who will instruct us today through the Holy Spirit, just as Joshua went before the high priest to understand the will of God for the children of Israel and the congregation. (Numbers 27:21)

The LORD is waiting to hear our voice as well, and as we cry out, He is going to answer us as He did his Son. “In the days of His flesh [Jesus] offered up definite, special petitions [for that which He not only wanted but needed] and supplications with strong crying and tears to Him who was [always] able to save Him [out] from death, and He was heard because of His reverence toward God [His godly fear, His piety, in that He shrank from the horrors of separation from the bright presence of the Father” (Heb. 5:7) (Ampc).

The key to our entering God’s rest is understanding the role of the High Priest, Jesus, and His instructions for “today.”  Not understanding “today” creates the missing pieces in our lives.

Join us Wednesday evening to learn more about the subject of “today.”

Many blessings,

P/Karen
