“But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell?” (Job 28:12)
Job asked many questions about where to find wisdom and where does understanding dwell. He knew it could not be bought with the finest of gold, nor could the price of it be weighed in silver. Gold nor crystal can compare with it. The price of it is beyond rubies. He discovered that the fear of God is wisdom and departing from evil is understanding. (Job 28:28)
Solomon teaches us that wisdom is the principal thing in our lives. It is first in place, time, order or rank. (Prov. 4:7) Wisdom is a gift to us from the LORD. Out of His mouth come knowledge and understanding. (Prov. 2:6) All the earth sought to hear Solomon and the wisdom which God had put in his heart. (I Kings 10:24)
Every time we open our mouths, we are revealing how much wisdom is in us. Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted wise. (Prov. 17:28) A fool utters all his mind: but a wise man keeps it in till afterwards. (Prov. 29:11)
So where does wisdom come from? How do we possess it? Wisdom enters into your heart from the Lord Himself. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Jesus Christ. (I Cor. 1:23-24) Great respect for, and the reverence of God are the very beginning of wisdom. (Prov. 1:7)
Wisdom makes you more powerful than your enemies. (Ps. 119:98) The enemy is helpless against the wisdom of God.
The spirit of wisdom can unlock your skills and your gifts. (Exod. 31:1-5)
God gives to a man that is good in His sight wisdom, and knowledge and joy. (Eccl. 2:26)
Wrong relationships can diminish your wisdom. Who are you letting close to you? Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. (I Cor. 15:33)
If you have not been asking for wisdom, be encouraged that you can ask today, and God will give it. (James 1:5) You must ask in faith and not waver. (James 1:6)
Lastly, remember the Word of God will always be your source of wisdom. (Prov. 2:6) It will come out of His mouth, and along with wisdom will come knowledge and understanding.
