Last Sunday, June 19th, we hosted our spiritual father, Dr. Francis Myles. In that meeting, he taught us about the spiritual technology of “speaking to the earth” (Job 12:8). He taught this in the year 2020, but this time, there was something exponentially more powerful about this Sunday’s teaching. Job 12:8 tells us to “Speak to the earth and it will teach you.” In my portion of Sunday’s service, I presented to you that in that particular Scripture, “to teach” (yarah) you will find the root of the word Torah. The reason the word “teach” is so significant is because it means that you will begin to start flowing as smoothly and as rapidly as water. As I talk to many people in a week’s time, I have discovered from our conversations that many feel “frozen” in their ability to fulfil their God-ordained destiny. What we learn from “Speak to the Earth” is a way to “thaw” the blockage and start to freely flow in God’s will for our lives.
The LORD told Job to speak to the earth and it would teach him. We are all students of the Lord Jesus Christ. In my mentorship, I was taught that learning is by observation. If you are being observant, you are keeping watch and guarding, as in the sense of one tending a garden. This principle of speaking to the earth is very real and is something that need be practiced. Observation takes time. To quote my mentor, Dr. Karl Coke, “Observation + time = a learning opportunity.” Also, observation without obedient action will profit you nothing. We inherit the promises of God through faith and patience. After my husband and I went into our yard and spoke to our earth, as prescribed by Dr. Myles, our next year saw God’s hand in a greater level of operation physically, spiritually, mentally and financially. We were blessed noticeably more than we could remember prior to our heeding this valuable lesson.
