A Word From Karen

BE NOT DECEIVED

Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners (moral habits)
(I Cor. 15:33)

From the beginning of time, the enemy has worked subtly to deceive and trick mankind with mixture.  He still works this way.  His main tactic is “deception.”

How To Avoid Deception

“But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does” (James 1:25 KJV).

To “look into” is a picture of one bending over in their body, and inspecting what they are seeing.  They are inspecting curiously and becoming acquainted with what they are inspecting.  To me, this paints a picture of keeping the Word in front of us.

As we constantly keep the pure Word of God before us, we hear exactly what the LORD is saying and, if using wisdom, begin to DO what He is saying.  In this state, we can easily discern truth from error.  Hearing without doing causes us to be “deceived.”  In studying Ancient Hebrew, I discovered the word for deceive or beguile meant to cause one to go into debt.  Being deceived puts us in the same position as if we had taken out a loan at the bank, that is owing.  The enemy presses on us continually to break through our God-directed boundaries and listen to wisdom from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which brings us into debt.

Adam And Eve

Scripture teaches us that Adam and Eve were “naked” and were not “ashamed.” In order to fully understand this passage, we need to research and understand it in its Hebraic sense through the Hebrew language.  The word for “naked” Gesenius (arom)(H6174) comes from Gesenius (aram) (H6191) meaning to be uncovered before God, walking prudently and subtly.  Having the pure wisdom of God makes you “subtle” (Prov. 1:4) and “prudent.”

In its Hebraic context, Adam and Eve were created and filled with pure wisdom.  They were not ashamed, which means to be confused or disappointed.  This tells me that if we receive mixture and we don’t go back to weigh out what we are learning, noting Eve’s failure, like her, we can be deceived and go into spiritual debt.

May our spiritual lens be clear without distortion and free from the lens of spiritual opposition to TRUTH, to Yeshua.

Blessings,

P/Karen
